| Job-0588 - Plant Operators We are looking for Plant Operators in Freeport, Grand Bahamas. Our client supplies electrical power to the Island of Grand Bahamas from West End to Sweeting�s Cay in the east. They are an integrated utility company serving the island�s 45,000 residents. Freeport is the Island�s capital city and the second largest city in the islands; it�s one of the best known destinations in the Bahamas. The Island has duty free shopping, endless beaches, alive entertainment, botanical parks, water sports, deep sea fishing; the choices are endless. As a Plant operator you will be responsible for all aspects of the safe and cost efficient operation of the diesel generators and all associated auxiliary equipment. You will be required to investigate, identify and correct operational and process issues, carry out minor repairs and adjustments. Plant operators are responsible to maintain good industry housekeeping standards. Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time Salary: $54,000-$56,000/yr. Benefits: Competitive benefits package available including vision, dental, medical AD&D, disability, life insurance and incentive program. Number of Vacancies: 15 Requirement: Preference will be given to Bahamians. Shift: Work a 24 hour rotating shift schedule. Working at night will be required. Start Date: As soon as possible Location: Freeport, Grand Bahamas Experience: 3 years� experience as one of the following: a Diesel Plant operator in a generating station or as a marine engineer or a diesel mechanic in an industry is preferred. A vocational certificate is preferred with a specialization in Electronics, Mechanics or related field. Experience working shift work, excellent mechanical aptitudes are preferred and a Senior High Graduate certificate is mandatory. Requirements: Color vision, excellent physical, reading, math and problem solving skills are required. The ideal candidate will have proven problem resolution skills and imitative and be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills. You will also need to have flexibility and ability to adapt to rescheduled assignments as well as multitask. | |
